We are proud to announce that $411.00 was donated to Tough Enough to Wear Pink/Cowboys for Cancer Research.  These funds were the proceeds from our Annual “A Tribute to Mother” Fashion Show and Luncheon. 

A fun time was had by all…Lorenzo’s Catering did a beautiful job and all the Ladies (and one Gentleman!) were happy to hear our commentary about all of the Spring and Summer Trends we are showing in the store.

We are always asked so many questions about fashion, so we decided to address a few.  Here are several examples of what we discussed:

1. Animal Prints.  We are constantly asked when Animal Prints will be going out of style and the answer is NEVER. The trend is to look for mixed prints (Multi-Animal Prints or Animal Prints mixed with other prints like Florals).

2. Maxi Dresses.  One of our favorite new looks for this Season are Maxi Dresses.  They are called Maxi for their maximum length.  The trend is to buy them as long as you can get them and wear them in bright, fun prints for Summer. They’ll keep you looking feminine and cool.

3. White.  It’s not just white, it’s WHITE HOT!  Every season, customers ask us what is the main color of the season.  This Spring and Summer, it’s White.  Try an all-over white outfit, or pop it with Metallics (Gold or Silver).  A white jean is a must, so try a pair of Not Your Daughter’s Jeans!

We are proud to announce that we were able to donate $240 to Jardin de Los Ninos! This donation came from the proceeds of our “Spring Fling for Jardin” fashion show and luncheon.  The Luncheon was held at Josefina’s Old Gate Cafe on April 1st. 

It was such a wonderful show and everyone enjoyed themselves so much…too bad we had to cut off the reservations at 40 ladies!  Two days prior to the show we learned that 60 mph winds were predicted for that day, so we made the decision to decline ticket sales beyond a number we could sit comfortably inside.  Ahh, New Mexico in the Spring!  We had to turn away several other groups because we didn’t want them to have their yummy Chicken Salad with a side of dirt!  Our Models were glad to not have been blowing around the courtyard as well. 

Based on the success and response to this show, we intend to have more little shows for your entertainment.  The next one, “A Tribute to Mother,” will be held on Thursday, May 6th from 11:30-1:00 at the new Lorenzo’s de Mesilla Palermo Banquet Room.  Tickets are on sale for $25 and can be purchased at the store.  Proceeds from this show will be donated to Tough Enough to Wear Pink.

The Emerald Isle was voted Best  Boutique by the Las Cruces Sun News Reader’s Choice Awards!
